Heres my 2 cents what I do is take the leaves and wet some cotton after you put it on the leaf then wrap some tissue paper around the plant loosely then wrap it in a half piece of news paper dampen, then slide it in a baggie then into a padded envelope no problems mark on package live plant it gets to the people fine.

Something to consider: the presence of water can encourage rotting in a nice warm enclosed area. When I've participated in a Round Robin, I have rarely had to throw away a leaf that was not wet anywhere, but have often thrown away rotting ones that had wet paper towels or cotton wrapped around them.

I have no idea what the ratio of success is; it's just an observation from the leaves I've seen that have been in a warm (hot) box.

I too have participated in a couple round robins. and have found the leaves travel just fine in sealed baggies with no moisture added. If leaves arive limp you can soak the whole leaf for a brief time and they usually plump back up.
