So here I go. I am still grooming Home Depot plants. All are thriving except this one. It is unknown but with a beautiful variegated leaf. Anyway it was all droopy so I checked everything and decided it was droopy because it was getting too much light. Wrong. When I started to repot it in a lighter mixture, it was completely rotted off from the root.--Too much water. Since it was an unknown store bought one, I just cut off a good leaf and threw the rest away. I know I could have put it somehow with no roots in a baggy but as you know that is a cumbersome mess unless you are trying to save an heirloom. So I kept a good leaf, groaned and threw the mess away. I've already got so many leaves coming on. Some of the babies are so big they already need room alone on the shelf. There is going to be a big explosion soon.

Do you know those units, towel shelves made to go over the toilet. Perfect for the 24 inch lights so we are going there next. Not wide enough but okay for a narrow tray or a few specimens. My lady friend said "who wants to go in the bath room to look at violet? You can't see violets over your head!" Duh! I said you've been a widow too long. I see the violets face on several times a day at eye level. So there-- there is even an advantage for violet guys!!LOL Who knew!

I like your idea of using towel shelves over the toilet! At this point, I don't have much space for isolation of new leaves/plants, but these shelves would give me another room to expand into.

Does anyone have similar ideas of adding shelves on unusual/unexpected shelves?
